Sony may have taken the tough decision to put a shotgun to project Aibo and lessen its robotics division, but that hasn’t stopped 37 Japanese Aibo owners from getting together for a concert. Conducting the digital doggies is a Sony Rolly. The Sony Rolly is a MP3 player that can dance to its own music.

When it’s not tumbling off tabletops, the breakdancing MP3 player is quite capable of delivering audio tracks that the Aibos can respond to simultaniously. The Aibos themselves, ranging from the first-generation mutts to the last version of programmable pooches Sony produced, arrived in their best show outfits and performed for this short YouTube flick with (near) flawless timing. Is this a new lease of life for the toys. We may need some robot dogcatchers soon!

weekend-clock_1.jpgIf you’re like people that thinks every weekday of yours is spent daydreaming about those two wonderful days at the end of the week that we love to call the weekend. Sleeping in! Hanging out! Not working! Oh, what a perfect paradise the weekend provides, but how unfairly short it really is. Well, now if you’re wondering just how much longer you have to wait until the weekend, that right there is the Weekend Clock.

Yes, the Weekend Clock is pretty self explanatory. It’s a clock that counts down to the weekend. Just like when you count down to the new year on New Year’s Eve. You may think that having to look at the time slowly count away all week will just make the duration seem longer, and you may be right. But the question the manufacturer poses is this: what if you’re not? Think about it.

1. capitalism: economic system of private ownership

2. embasy: residence and offices of an ambassador

3. gaudy: tastelessly showy

4. insular: narrow minded

5. moron: very stupid person

kindle2bezosThe Kindle 2 has been revealed, and though it has a few impressive features, it’s far from perfect. Don’t get on the wrong end — it’s a great device for today — but the black-and-white screen and clunky keyboard has us thinking forward to what the next version might be like. The Kindle 2 was just unveiled, but time moves quickly in the world of technology, and we hope the designers and engineers at Amazon have a look at our wish list of e-reader abilities before they attack the Kindle 3.

parrot-by-stark-zimku-10United Arab Emirates, land overflowing with petroleum. But look at what they’ve done with it: PRT (personal rapid transit), driver-less electric taxis that take to the streets later this year.

Planners say the podcars will be able to deliver riders within 100 meters of any location in the city. The whole network of tracks for the cars will be two stories beneath street level.

The cost? Its creators say the system will pay for itself by charging riders the same price they’d pay for an equivalent taxi ride. Similar pod-cars are in use at Heathrow Airport near London, but never have they been deployed on such a city-wide scale. Don’t you just feel relieved
