cray_1_supercomputer1 Do you think that your expensive, custom-built gaming computer is powerful? Do you think that you have the hottest computer on the block because you can run Crysis at full specs? Well, that won’t impress me one bit because if you want to see an impressive computer. Then say hello to the Cray XT Jaguar supercomputer.

It has some pretty awesome mind-blowing specs: 45,000 quad core Opteron processors, 362TB of RAM, and a 10PB (petabyte) storage array. This thing goes along at a sserious 1.64 petaflops. It is truly the fastest machine on earth being used for non-classified research, but you have to assume that there are even bigger machines in the deep, secret halls of the government.

swany-bluetooth-glovesWhen your hiking up an icy cold slope of a mountain, and you don’t want to take out your hand out of the glove just to make a call. Your would probably just freeze outside of the glove and that’s just simply inconvenient, that’s there are these pair of swany G-cell gloves: winter gloves with blue-tooth built inside.

These gloves allow you to make the classic “phone” hand gesture and it actually works. It’s extremely easy, all you have to do is hold hand by the side of your head and you’ll be set. Controls are built into the glove, and they are so happen to be toasty warm. Never again people would look aounrd for their cell phone.

Ordinary emergency signs will work and make sense during an annoying fire drill, but what what if there’s, you know, an actual fire happening? You would have to crawl on your hands and feet in a smoke filled hallway and will be pretty hard to see the signs above the doors.

That’s why the Halo Light makes a lot more sense than the current emergency signs. Instead of glowing above doors, the Halo Light beams down circles through the smoke and onto the floor, allowing people to easily find their way out. This light surely beats the signs we see today and probably sooner or later we might them being installed in buildings.

So you could can your clothes every day to suit the mood you’re in, why not change the color of your glasses. Sure glasses could get pretty exspensive, so your not going to own a bunch different pairs. What I’m talking about are glasses that can change its color to go with your outfit.

The glasses being told are called RbG Rainbow Glasses. These have hollow plastic frames you can fill with water-based ink of any color you would like. They can be emptied out at the end of the day and can be refilled the next morning, or leave it empty to have a clear look. If this is too messy for you, uust wait for the next version of the glasses that will be full of LED lights to change on the go.

Using a mouse for your computer is normal for everybody, if your your hands and arms still work. For people that are disabled, it’s a lot harder for them. That’s the reason why researchers from the University of Washington a developed a type of mouse that can be controlled with your voice.

You might ask yourself ” How exactly does it work?” Well, making different sounds like “ahh” moves the arrow up and to right. Saying “Ooo” make it go straight down, while making the sound “ohh” moves it down to the right. And to click on something just make a soft clicking noise. This enables a precise way of moving the mouse without your hands doing the work. And also yes, you might sound a little bit crazy while using this control.

This a Photo Story I made with my class and it’s about my life is like here in America.

Thanks For Watching.

A skin desease, Solar Keratosis,is attacking the light-skinned people of the country of Botswana. The albino people that are living in Botswana are having a hard time when it comes to medication for thier skin desease, especially if they are living in a small village with no medical access. It’s hard for a person that lives there to get treatment because there is no transportation and money.

There’s this one woman in the Nata Village that has this kind of skin desease. She has suffered a lot growing up with Solar Keratosis. It is dangerous for her to be standing out in the sun.

Researchers discovered areas of the Artic Ocean foaming up with gas because of “methane chimneys” coming from the sea floor. The sub-sea layer of permafrost, which was suppose to act as a lid to keep the methane gas from escaping, melted away. The researchers believe that the methane is actually speeding up global warming.

Methane is is twenty times more powerful than the greenhouse gas or the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and scientists are afraid that this could accelerate global warming with a massive effect. Also methane in the atmosphere causes higher temperatures causing more permafrost melting and the release of more methane.

Status Ribbin

Nata Village along with the Sua Secondary School Health Club and Nata Primary School were able to draw up and paint the Murals so that it would be educating their community on having good health and knowing their status. Both Sua Secondary School and Nata Primary School worked very hard putting this special event together. The students hope the message will help a lot of people with their Mural education. The students will continue to educate their community and travelers with more Murals on the A3 road that passes through their community.

Nata is the proud host of North Gate Lodge, a new accommodation facility that is strategically located at the Kasane, Francistown and Maun road intersection.

Nata, naturally a traditional village which for many years had only one accommodation facility, has felt the demand for more accommodation establishments after the bush fire that gatted down the one facility.

Nata is a very important place as it serves as a gateway to both the Chobe and the Okavango Delta – and that is what makes the lodge so vital to tourists and business travellers alike.

Seloma Tiro, the owner, is a man who had a vision of building a lodge slap-bang in the middle of Nata, and that’s how North Gate Lodge was born. The lodge is in the good hands of Peter McClelland, the general manager, and his wife, Susan, who is deputy general manager. They have, along with Tiro, worked tirelessly to get the lodge to where it is today – an oasis in the almost barren landscape of the Nata area. There are 24 rooms – including chalets, family rooms, executive rooms and single rooms – all of which are well-furnished and competitively priced. There is also a conference facility and the bluest swimming pool one can imagine. The rooms are equipped with TV and air conditioners which all add to the comfort of the rooms.

Very convenient parking is available within the lodge property for guests and the area is under 24-hour security surveillance so one does not worry about the vehicles.

It is not so surprising as the cool and tranquil lodge almost makes one forget the busy, noisy life going on outside its walls in the village of Nata . It provides an environment in which one can have a peaceful rest after a long drive. According to Peter they provide tours to the Makgadikgadi Pans, Kubu Island, and Nata Bird Sanctuary as well as Nxai Pan with its famous Baines Baobabs.

Peter wants to turn Nata into a destination rather a stop over – “we want people come here because they want to visit Nata, and not because they are passing through to Chobe or the Okavango delta,” he said.

Next time you are in Nata, try it out at North gate Lodge, the fully stocked wet bar is situated right next to the swimming pool!

Post office internet

Nata Village is finally able to access the internet for all the travelers, campers, and the community to use this when ever they need to send a quick message. Nata Village has three locations where you can access the internet. First, the post office has six computers available to be used at any time. Furthermore, you have the availability to make copies and send around the world and back. Second, Wild Butchery has four computers and a fax machine that can be used. Finally, North Gate Lodge also has internet for any one to use.

FluGen creates a painless gadget for delivering swine flu vaccine

There might be a Swine Flu shot in the near future for you, but who really wants to get stabbed by a sharp needle? It just gives me chills thinking about it. But help could be on the way. The masterminds behind the FluGen figured out a way to deliver vaccine just under the skin, and not into the muscle, which is what hurts so much.

This nifty disposable micro device is a Swine Flu fighter that’s about the size of a poker chip, and with a quick button press, its tiny pump sends the vaccine into a set of micro needles that are barely embedded into the top layer of your skin. You can hardly feel them.

While not the first idea of its type, FluGen’s version is probably going to become reality soon, given the current Swine Flu outbreak. Even better news is that for some reason, this type of multi-pronged shallow injection is more effective against the flu. Also, more people will probably show up for the shot, since it’s allegedly painless. Good timing — bring it on.

D-roll-laptop-concept-by-Hao-Hua.jpgThe D-roll, or “digital roll,” is what designer Hao Hua considers to be a “next generation laptop design,” as it does away with the book-like form factor in favor of one mimicking an artist’s scroll. Whether or not something like this will even be possible in the near future seems to matter less when you look at how much effort Hua put in the design.

Up above you can see the D-roll set up like a regular laptop, and it’s easy to imagine how portable it’d be all rolled up. There’s an in-between configuration that you could theoretically use to browse email quickly and the straps double as places to plug in your USB devices. It also has a detachable webcam you could use on the computer or wear on your wrist. Though it’s just a concept, it seems there’s some interesting thoughts that laptop designers could incorporate as takeaways from the D-roll.

2. droll: amusing in an odd way

4. farce: a light dramatic work in which highly improbable plot situations, exaggerated characters, and often slapstick elements are used for humorous effect

ULL-Louisiana-public-rail-system.jpgA team of industrial design students from the University of Louisiana have put together a railway that wouldn’t need stations to pick up passengers. Instead, system features driverless pods that are mounted to an elevated rail on an arm, which can lower the cabs down to pick up or drop off passengers anywhere along a route.

The idea came in part from roller coasters — though you don’t have to worry about your pod speeding off through a loop — and a century-old monorail in Wuppertal, Germany, which has only had one major accident since 1903. The team hopes that a system such as their versatile monorail would cut down on the need for buses, which, with personnel, fuel, and maintenance costs, can be too costly to run effectively.
